Premium Translucent Finish (7400)

Designed for vertical wood such as siding, trim and doors. The durable and flexible alkyd resins provide superior water protection, while the highest quality transparent iron oxide pigments reflect harmful UV rays that fade and damage wood. Premium Translucent Finish acts as an additional layer of protection and beauty for your real wood sided homes, trim, doors, and fences. Premium Translucent Finish will beautify wood with a choice of four brilliant finishes with long lasting results.

Always test a small area and let stain dry to ensure color satisfaction before staining entire area. Computer screens and printers vary in how colors are displayed, so the samples shown on this page may vary slightly in color, sheen or finish from actual product and individual results.

Premium Translucent (7400)

  • 7410 – Natural Gloss

    This is a very lightly toned finish that will not change the natural color of the wood. The gloss finish gives a high shine wet look.

  • 7415 – Cedar Gloss

    This is tinted to a cedar toned finish
    that contains extra pigments and will deepen the color of the wood. The gloss finish gives a high shine wet look.

  • 7420 – Natural Satin

    This is a very lightly toned finish that will not change the natural color of the wood. The satin finish gives a subtle eggshell sheen.

  • 7425 – Cedar Satin

    This is tinted to a cedar toned finish
    that contains extra pigments and will deepen the color of the wood. The satin finish gives a subtle eggshell sheen.

  • 7429 – Mission
    Brown Satin

    Mission Brown is
    a deep rich brown, with black under tones. The satin
    finish gives a subtle eggshell sheen.


All exterior vertical wood such as siding, fences, logs, trim and doors (not for use on decking).


All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dirt, mildew stains, dust and other foreign matter. Remove surface stains, dirt and failed oxidized stainswith Superdeck®Wood Cleaner. Remove solid stains or paints with Superdeck®Wood Stripper. For redwood and cedar, follow cleaning or stripping with Superdeck® Wood Brightener to remove tannin stains and brighten wood to its original color. For new wood remove mill glaze with Superdeck® Wood Brightener.

WARNING! Removal of old paint by sanding, scraping or other means may generate dust or fumes that contain lead. Exposure to lead dust or fumes may cause brain damage or other adverse health effects, especially in children or pregnant women. Controlling exposure to lead or other hazardous substances requires the use of proper protective equipment, such as a properly fitted respirator (NIOSH approved) and proper containment and cleanup. Product should be shaken or stirred before and during application. When using more than one container of product, intermix all product and stir well to ensure color consistency.


Do not thin.


Packaged Colors – Do Not Tint



Proper application is essential in order to accomplish the full benefits of product appearance and performance. Different wood species, textures and natural color will affect finished shade. Always test a small area first before coating entire job. Saturate surface leaving a wet sheen. Back brush product using smooth even strokes during all application methods. Maintain a wet edge and overlap strokes when applying. Apply product to the entire board lengths to prevent lap marks. Thoroughly coat the porous ends of all boards with several coats.


Two coats are recommended for maximum protection and full coverage. Allow 24 hours dry time between coats.


40°F-95°F. Do not apply if wood surface is hot to touch or if rain is likely to occur..

DRY TIME @ 77 F:

8-12 hours to touch, 24 hours to recoat depending on weather conditions.


Approximate spread rate:
Smooth Surfaces: 400-500 sq. ft./gal.
Rough Surfaces: 250-350 sq. ft./gal.


Clean brushes and equipment with mineral spirits or paint thinner following product manufacturer s directions. Dispose of empty container or unused portion in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
