Three Easy Steps to Beautiful Concrete

FACT: The success of a coating for concrete is always dependent on the proper surface preparation of the concrete. The following steps will help you reach maximum results and longevity:

1- Roughen (or Etch) concrete

2- Neutralize and allow concrete to dry completely

3- Stain and enjoy!

Roughen (or Etch) Surface.

Concrete must be as rough as 120 grit sandpaper, smooth concrete will not accept stains and coatings. Use Safe Solution to etch and roughen concrete surfaces. Or, a floor sander or shot blaster may be used to roughen or profile the surface.

Start With A Dry, Clean Surface.

Concrete must be free of foreign matter and completely dry for stain to penetrate. Use Concrete Cleaner to remove dirt and stains, and to neutralize after etching.
