Surface Preparation: All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dirt, mildew, dust, and other foreign matter. Remove mildew and contaminants with Superdeck Wood Cleaner. Tannin-prone wood species such as redwood, cedar, and fir may need a follow-up treatment with Superdeck Wood Brightener. Previously-painted or stained surfaces should be prepared by removing all loose or peeling debris. Tannin-prone wood species should be primed using Superdeck Super Prime Oil Base Primer prior to application of Super Hide Siding Stain to retard extractive bleeding.

Mildew: Remove all mildew stains using Wood Cleaner. Mildew is not caused by this stain and does not represent stain failure. This product cannot prevent mildew growth that is already present on the wood surface if not properly cleaned prior to application of stain. However, this stain does contain a highly effective mildewcide to inhibit the growth of mildew on the stain's surface.

Extractive Bleeding: Some wood species such as redwood, cedar, and fir contain natural water soluble extractives which tend to migrate or bleed to the surface and cause discoloration to the coating. Extractive bleeding is not caused by the coating and does not represent coating failure.  Use Wood Brightener to remove discoloration caused by extractive bleeding. Use Super Prime Oil Base Primer prior to application.

Product Preparation: Product is supplied ready to use, no thinning is necessary. Product should be shaken or stirred before and during application.  Intermix all containers to be used on the same job to insure color consistency. Always test a small area first to ensure color satisfaction before coating entire project.

Application: Apply using a high quality nylon brush, roller, or sprayer. Back rolling or brushing is suggested when spraying, working the product smoothly and evenly into the wood to ensure a uniform appearance. Always maintain a wet edge to avoid lapping.  Two coats are recommended for maximum durability and product performance. Apply product at temperatures above 35ºF and below 90ºF. Do not apply in direct sunlight or if surface is hot to touch. Do not apply if rain is likely to occur.

Dry Time: 1 hour to touch. Allow at least 4 hours dry time before applying second coat. Dry time can be affected by temperature and humidity. Dry time may be prolonged in cooler temperatures.

Coverage: Smooth surfaces - 300-400 sq. ft. per gallon. Rough surfaces - 200-300 sq. ft. per gallon. Surface texture, method of application, and wood moisture content will affect coverage.

Tinting: Super Hide Siding Stain tint bases (White, Medium, Deep, and Neutral) may be tinted using compatible machine colorants. Ready-mixed Ultra White is not a tint base and is supplied as a ready-to-use product.
