Series 7000: Log Home Oil Finish
Superdeck® Log Home Oil Finish™ is specially formulated for the demanding needs of log homes.  Log Home Oil Finish contains the highest quality transparent oxide pigments to protect wood from the intense UV rays found at mountain altitudes.

Protects & beautifies:
No other exterior wood stain offers the beautiful sheen and durable protection of Log Home Oil Finish.  Log Home Oil Finish contains linseed and tung oils that offer superior durability that enhances the natural beauty of real wood, while protecting against harsh elements that can fade and damage exposed wood.

Fights water damage:  Special water repellent additives bead water from the logs, a key feature in protecting against cracking, splitting and checking.  Log Home Oil Finish's high-solids formula penetrates deep into the wood's surface to lubricate and strengthen wood and form a superior water barrier.

One-coat coverage:  One coat of Log Home Oil Finish is all that is needed for new wood -- saving you time and money.

Satisfaction guaranteed:
We guarantee your satisfaction with the performance of Superdeck products.  See product label for details.

Application Instructions

SURFACE PREPARATION: Clean and prepare all surfaces prior to application. NEW WOOD that has not been kiln dried must be allowed to season for 2 to 4 weeks before applying product. Dry time will vary depending on weather and moisture content of wood. ALL WO surfaces must be thoroughly free from dirt, mill glaze, and other foreign materials before applying product.  WOOD SPECIES: Oak, Cedar, Redwood and Douglas Fir contain water soluble extractives (tannins). These types of wood should be cleaned with Superdeck Wood Brightener before applying product.

PRODUCT PREPARATION: Product should be shaken or stirred before and during application.

APPLICATION METHODS: May be brushed, rolled or sprayed. If sprayed, use the lowest possible pressure needed for a reasonable spray pattern. Back rolling is suggested when spraying, working the product smoothly and evenly into the wood. This will decrease the possibility of pools or puddles on the surface and ensure a smooth, even, properly penetrated finish.

APPLICATION: Proper application is essential in order to accomplish the full benefits of product appearance and performance. Different wood species, textures and natural color will affect finished shade. ALWAYS Test a small area first before coating entire project. Log Home Oil Finish is a penetrating product that must be applied only at a rate the wood will absorb. Do not pool or puddle product on surface: Excess product allowed to sit on surface will result in a tacky finish and extended dry time. Remove tacky finish with mineral spirits within 24 hours of application or a mild solution of Superdeck Wood Cleaner after 24 hours. When properly applied, the wood surface will have positive dry and the wood fibers beneath the surface will maintain excellent lubrication.

APPLICATION TEMPERATURE: 40ºF - 95ºF. Do not apply if surface is hot to touch or if rain is likely to occur.

NUMBER OF COATS: One coat depending on wood porosity and wood moisture content.

DRY TIME @ 77ºF: 8 hours to touch, depending on weather conditions.

THINNING: None required.

SPREAD RATE:
Approximate spread rate: Smooth Millwork: 250-350 sq. ft./gal.; Rough Sawn: 150-250 sq. ft./gal.
