Note: These are the best computer representations of product colors, the wood type used greatly influences the final color of stains and finishes. For best results, test a small area and let coating dry to ensure color satisfaction before completing your project. Many species of hardwoods are extremely dark in color and dense in structure. These unique qualities may overpower the stain's ability to significantly change the color of naturally dark wood. Minimal variation to the wood's natural color should be expected when staining to protect dark hardwoods.
USES: Protects
exterior hardwoods such as Mahogany, Ipe, Iron Wood, Red Meranti and other
exotic hardwoods used for decking, rails and outdoor furniture.
SURFACE PREPARATION: DO NOT APPLY OVER SEALED SURFACES. DO NOT APPLY
TO WET WOOD. Remove previous oxidized oil base stainswith Superdeck Wood Cleaner.Always follow Wood Cleaner with Superdeck
Wood Brightener to brighten wood to its original color. All mildew must be removed. Follow Wood Cleaner mildew removal
instructions.Extractive bleeding and
rust stains should be removed by using Wood Brightener.
PRODUCT PREPARATION: Product should be shaken or stirred before and during application.When using more than one container of
product, intermix all product and stir well to ensure color consistency.
THINNING: None required.
APPLICATION METHODS:Product may be brushed, rolled, or sprayed.If sprayed, use the lowest possible pressure
needed for a reasonable spray pattern.Back rolling is suggested when spraying, working the product smoothly
and evenly into the wood.This will
decrease the possibility of pools or puddles on the surface and ensure a
properly penetrated finish.
APPLICATION: Proper application is essential in order to accomplish the full benefits
of product appearance and performance.Different species of hardwoods, textures, and natural color will affect
finished shade.NOTE: Many species of
exotic hardwoods are extremely dark in color and dense in structure. These unique qualities may overpower the
stains ability to significantly change the color of naturally dark wood.Minimal variation to the woods natural color
should be expected when staining to protect dark hardwoods. The coating will provide UV protection, water
repellency, beauty and protection against mildew staining.Always test a small area before doing entire
job.Hardwood Stain & Sealer is a
penetrating finish that must be applied only at a rate the wood will
absorb.Do not pool or puddle product on
surface.Excess product allowed to sit
on the surface will result in a tacky finish and extended dry time.Remove tacky finish with mineral spirits
within 24 hours or with a mild solution of Wood Cleaner after 24 hours.When properly applied, the wood surface will
have positive dry and the wood fibers beneath the surface will maintain
excellent lubrication.Thoroughly seal
the porous ends of all boards with product.
APPLICATION TEMPERATURE: 40º F - 95º
F. Do not
apply if wood surface is hot to touch or if rain is likely to occur.
NUMBER OF COATS:One coat is recommended.
DRY TIME @ 77º F: 8 Hours to touch, 24 hours for traffic; depending
on weather conditions.
