Composite Deck Sealer is designed to keep stains, grease and dirt from attaching to the composite decking surface so they can be easily cleaned away. Composite Deck Sealer also contains a highly effective, multi-functional biocide protecting the sealer's surface from unsightly mildew and algae growth. Composite Deck Sealer is ideal for use around barb-e-que areas offering a stain resistant barrier allowing spills to be cleaned up before staining the surface. Surface Preparation: All
surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dirt, mildew, dust, and other
foreign matter.Remove mildew and
contaminants with Superdeck® Composite Deck Cleaner.Follow all cleaning instructions for
Composite Deck Cleaner.For stubborn,
difficult to remove mildew stains a solution of 1 part bleach to 3 parts water
may be used to clean the surface.Note:
Mildew is not caused by this sealer and does not represent coating
failure.This product cannot prevent
mildew growth that is already present on the composite surface if not properly
cleaned prior to application of this product.However, this product does contain a highly effective mildewcide to
inhibit the growth of mildew and algae on the sealer's surface.
Product
Preparation: Product is supplied ready to
use, no thinning is necessary.Shake
product before using.Shaking will
create some air in product, allow a few minutes for air to escape product before
application.Always test a small area
first to insure appearance satisfaction before coating entire project.
Application:Product may be applied using a
high quality nylon brush, roller, pad applicator, or pump-up sprayer.Back brushing, or rolling is recommended when
spraying, working the product smoothly and evenly into the surface to insure a
uniform appearance.Apply product to the
entire length of board or sets of boards at a time keeping a wet edge to avoid
lap marks.Apply smooth even coats.Two coats are recommended for maximum
durability and product performance.Do not
allow product to pool or puddle on surface.Apply product when temperature is above 50ºF and below 90ºF.Do not apply in direct sunlight or if surface
is hot to touch.Do not apply if rain is
likely to occur.
Dry
Time: Allow at
least 4 hours dry time between coats.Allow 24 hours dry time for normal foot traffic.Dry time can be affected by temperature and
humidity.Dry time may be prolonged in
cooler temperatures.
coverage: Approximately 350-400 sq. ft per gallon.Surface texture, method of application, and
substrate moisture will affect coverage.
