Surface Preparation: Product must be able to penetrate surfaces for proper performance and appearance.  All surfaces must be clean, and free from dirt, mildew, dust, grease, oil, waterproofers, wood stains, paints, sealers, and other foreign matter. For cleaning wood surfaces use Superdeck Wood Cleaner. Redwood and cedar may need Superdeck Wood Brightener to neutralize tannin stains and restore natural color after using Wood Cleaner. When using Wood Brightener, wait 48 hours before applying Superdeck Waterproofer. For cleaning concrete surfaces, use Mason's Select Concrete Cleaner. Smooth, dense concrete may require etching to allow Superdeck Waterproofer to properly penetrate the surface. Use Mason's Select Safe Solution for concrete etching. Allow concrete to dry 48 hours after etching before applying Waterproofer. Concrete must be completely cured (30 days) and dry before applying Waterproofer.

Product Preparation: Do not thin; product is supplied ready to use. Gently shake product before use. Allow any excess air to escape product before use. Always test a small area to insure satisfaction before doing entire project.

Application Temperature: 50ºF - 90ºF. Do not apply if surface is hot to touch or if rain is likely to occur.

Application: Superdeck Waterproofer may be applied to damp wood surfaces only when cleaning with water or Wood Cleaner. Do not apply to damp surfaces when using brighteners or etchers (see surface preparation). (NOTE: application to dry surfaces offers maximum product penetration and best results.) 

After cleaning. wait at least 2 hours before applying Waterproofer. Product is a one-coat product.  Do not apply more than one coat. Apply by brush, roller, pad applicator, pump-up sprayer, or airless sprayer. Apply to surface thoroughly and evenly. Apply only enough Waterproofer as the surface will absorb. Do not allow product to pool or puddle on surface. Any excess product on surface should be brushed or rolled out. When spraying, always back brush or back roll to avoid excess product on surface. Over-application or excess product may result in a tacky surface. Product should be applied from bottom to top on vertical surfaces to avoid streaking. Note: To paint or stain over surfaces treated with Superdeck Waterproofer, allow up to 12 months for surface to sufficiently weather.

Approximate Coverage: Wood - 200 sq. ft./gallon.  Brick - 175 sq. ft./gallon.  Concrete - 250 sq. ft./gallon. Note: surface texture, method of application, and surface moisture content will affect coverage.

Dry Time: Minimum of 12 hours before using surface. Dry time will vary depending on porosity of surface, temperature, and humidity.
